What are you paying attention to? What are you noticing? And how do you get to choose where to place your attention? Focus flows where your mind goes, or does it?
The reticular activating system, or RAS, is a bundle of neurons that starts close to the top of the spinal column and extends upwards around two inches. All of your senses (except smell, which goes to our brain’s emotional centre) are wired directly to this bundle of neurons that’s about the size of your little finger.
This little bit of brain matter is responsible for filtering the massive amounts of information your sensory organs are constantly throwing at it and selecting the ones that are most important for your conscious mind to pay attention to.

Have you ever got so far along the path towards getting what you wanted and yet not quite got it?
Have you noticed how much you’ve already achieved this year? Or like many, have you noticed the year has almost disappeared and there is still too much to do? Today we’re going to look at ways to realign your goals or outcomes for success.
As I tick off another outcome booked and paid for, and look forward to the new adventures coming up, I decided it was also useful to an interim stocktake on what has and has not happened this year.
The 1st quarter training went well and was loads of fun. I bought a few more treasures and we’re booked to go to Sydney to work with Tony Robbins in September. Our clients have all had amazing successes and achieved the outcomes they wanted with NLP. We’ve found our communications and social media specialist, and worked on some great change projects. So I’ve ticked off most of the outcomes I set for myself and am feeling rather smug. Although when I did the outcomes setting process it took time to get the strategies and alignment in place. The things I have yet to achieve still need work.
